One of the most popular times of the year for kids is Halloween season. This is the time of the year they get to dress up, go around the neighborhood and get candy. Some kids know weeks before Halloween comes what they want to be for Halloween but others don't. There are many great ways parents and kids can get a good costume idea for any occasion.
Favorite Movies
Most parents know what their kids' favorite movies are. There is something about that movie that will cheer their child out of a bad mood. Suggesting the child dress up as one of the characters from that movie is a great costume idea. With a lot of kids, favorite movies change every year so there may not be a risk of repeating Halloween costumes.

Like movies, parents know what television shows are loved by their kids. Getting a costume idea from their favorite TV show is a great, simple way to get kids engaged. Not only can one child dress up from that show, they can invite their friends to dress in similar ways and be the entire cast.

The imagination of a child is what brings a book to life. Parents that suggest their favorite book character as a costume idea may see how vivid their imagination is. Hunting a great costume idea for kids can be just as much fun for the parents as the kids. Watching them dress as a character they see on TV often or creating someone they have only imagined in the pages of a book can be a great thing. Children love cars, they love riding in them and they love pretending to drive them, and these days they can thanks to the large variety of electric pedal cars that are currently on the market.
When I was a child one of my favorite toys was a go kart my parents bought me for Christmas, I love it and it certainly got a lot of use, but unfortunately I could never have the one I really wanted because the electric models were so expensive back then. These days there are so many to choose from and they are priced much lower making them much easier to afford.
There are however a number of factors to remember when choosing an electric pedal car because they are not all the same and today I would like to focus on the different batteries available and the differences between them.
There are 3 types of batteries that are found in electric pedal cars giving different amounts of power, 6v, 12v, and 24v. The higher the voltage the more power the car will have and the faster the car can go.
6v cars have a low amount of power; this is not always a bad thing. This is very good for small children who may not be able to control a more powerful car. These cars work great on flat hard surfaces but due to the low power they do not run to well on grass or inclines. If you have young children and they are only going to be having a little fun in the back yard then this could work really well as you will not need to keep an eye on them as much as there is very little danger.
12v cars are more powerful, and often have more features too like rubber wheels and often are larger than the 6v versions. The biggest difference is usually found in the speed. The cars are a lot quicker than the smaller 6v versions. These cars can often go up to about 5 mph, which is about an adults jogging pace. You can also use the car on more types of surface such as grass and gravel, also they do much better at inclines as they have more power to climb up steeper gradients. They are great if you are buying the car for a younger child but plan on keeping it a while the child can grow into it as they often have a lot more interior room.
24v cars are even more powerful and are fantastic for older kids. These cars can often travel up to 15 mph, so sometimes it is good to make sure they have a speed limiter on them if you are worried about your child. These cars can be used by younger children, but remember to keep your eye on them and always remember, 15 mph is fast, you can't just jump up and stop the car as it can be going faster than running pace, and can easily pull over or knock an adult down.
